Top Two Ways to Connect with the Spirit

Our spirit is eternal!!

We existed before, we exist now, and we will continue to exist!

While on this earth, it is our responsibility to strengthen our spirit as much as possible.

How do we do this? Through continually seeking after the companion of the Holy Spirit and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

"In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost," said President Russel M. Nelson.

It is imperative that I seek daily to strengthen my spirit. I can FEEL the pull of the world and I don't want to live this life without the companionship of the Holy Ghost. I NEED his presence. I NEED His guidance. It's through this guidance that I find truth and joy!!

Through gratitude and listening, I am able to open my heart to see and hear His guidance!

How I Find Gratitude:

Every morning I write in my Anchor Planner five things I am grateful for. I am specific and often write things that happened the day before. I also write my 'Best Moment of the Day' in my planner. By reviewing my day and writing down this moment, I am allowing myself to find the good in my day! Seeing God's hand in the details of my life!!

These simple daily actions allow me to feel the spirit more allowing MY spirit to be strengthened and feel God's love for me!

How I Listen:

Prayer, meditation, visualization.

When I pray in the morning, I meditate and visualize what I am praying about. I ask questions. I pause to listen. I write down what I am hearing. I am learning to have a true conversation with the Lord!!

Through this process of pray, visualize, ask, listen, and record, my spirit is strengthened. I learn exactly what God wants me to hear. It is really quite spectacular!!

Through these two simple principles of gratitude and listening, I'm connecting to the Spirit and my Father in Heaven. This connection grows my spirit and brings me much joy!
